Annual Bruce Springsteen Holiday Gift Guide – 2020

(Original list inspiration by Pete Chianca – Blogness on the Edge of Town)

If you’re anything like me, it’s never to early to start thinking about holiday gift shopping. Let’s face it, in the time of COVID we have little choice but to sit at home, dreaming about attending live concerts, or watching football, tweeting, checking your FB pages, repeat… But gifts must be got at some point, and if there’s a Springsteen fan on your list, you could do a lot worse than any of the items listed below:

MUSIC

By far, the most anticipated holiday offering this season is Letter to You, Bruce Springsteen’s new album and docu style film with the E Street Band.

“I love the emotional nature of Letter To You,” he said in a statement. “And I love the sound of the E Street Band playing completely live in the studio, in a way we’ve never done before, and with no overdubs. We made the album in only five days, and it turned out to be one of the greatest recording experiences I’ve ever had.” – Rolling Stone Magazine

Here is what is on the album:

In addition to nine new songs, the album also includes fresh recordings of three songs that predate Springsteen’s 1973 debut album, Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.: “Janey Needs A Shooter,” “If I Was the Priest” and “Song for Orphans.”

With no live concerts in the near future, this is the best us fans can hope for.
